The simple delineations of the ordinary incidents and feelings whichcharacterize childhood, that are contained in the Rollo Books, havingbeen found to interest, and, as the author hopes, in some degree tobenefit the young readers for whom they were designed,—the plan isherein extended to children of the other sex. The two first volumesof the series are Lucy’s Conversations and Lucy’sStories. Lucy was Rollo’s cousin; and the author hopes that thehistory of her life and adventures may be entertaining and useful tothe sisters of the boys who have honored the Rollo Books with theirapproval.
