With an Introduction byMajor-General J. W. McCAY, C. B.
Paper cover, 1s. net.
Private Skeyhill trained in Egypt fromJanuary 1915 to April 1915. He landedwith his battalion on Anzac Beach on25th April, taking part in the fightingof that first fierce week. The next weekhe was with his battalion at Cape Helles, and shared in the well-known chargeby the 2nd Brigade on the 8th May,when a high-explosive shell burst besidehim and sent him to hospital, a blindand helpless man. There are hopesthat eventually he may recover his sight, but at best the time must be long. Hispoems breathe love of country and ofcourage, the spirit of battle, soldiers' comradeship, and sympathy for the fallen.
